Hi, I’m Hannah (She/Her)

I’m a UK Registered Clinical Psychologist with ten years of experience working in the healthcare sector and in private practice. I started my private practice with the aim to reach a group of people who might not get psychological help from mainstream healthcare services as quickly as they would like but who still need and deserve high quality, evidence-based care. My work over the last ten years has seen me provide therapy on a one-to-one basis, with families and in groups, and I’ve also provided consultation and training to professional organisations. I started off working privately with just individuals but have expanded my practice to work with couples using Emotionally Focused Therapy. My work uses video-calls, perfect for busy people who would struggle to get to in-person sessions and those who feel more comfortable in their own space.

Below is a little more of the wordy, psychologically-phrased way of explaining how I work. At the core, what I’d like you to take away from my website is that I’m highly trained, I care about my clients and I will work hard with you to get you to where you want to be.

My doctoral training has allowed me to learn lots of different kinds of models and I generally use a blend of these with clients in therapy. My couples work uses Emotionally Focused Therapy (which you can learn a little more about in the dedicated section) but I also bring in my broader clinical skills when it’s helpful to the couple. Having a structured approach is really helpful with couples as having more than one person in the therapy room creates more opportunity for chaos or conversely, more quietness! My job is to work with whatever energy you bring in order to find a coherent story about what is going on.

My individual work tends to use a blend of therapies. You may have heard of a few of them – for example, cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness based therapies – and there may be some that are less familiar, for example, somatic approaches or using polyvagal theory. I use the best models to suit what you’re coming with and I am happy to chat with you about what you think you might like. My individual work can be structured (for example, using techniques and strategies) or more exploratory in nature (using psychodynamic and attachment-based methods). Please see dedicated sections to learn more about how we would work together.

I acknowledge my privilege as a white, cis gender woman and welcome working with people from communities who have faced and continue to face adversities and discrimination that I have not had to encounter. I welcome working with clients from all walks of life, including those from the LGBTQ+ community and BIPOC. My pronouns are she/her. Please note I work online only.
